Flexible working isn’t something that works for every business but at Aquarius we feel we have really reaped the benefits. Much of the success of our business is down to our flexible working schemes and the fact that a huge portion of our workforce are based in their own homes.
Aquarius is Scotland’s first ‘Home Worker’ contact centre, with staff based throughout central Scotland. Our workforce is taken from an untapped pool of talented people that, but for the flexibility we give, would not be able to have the stimulating employment opportunity we can offer.
By tapping into eager and enthusiastic base of people who want to work from home, we are rewarded with a highly dedicated and motivated workforce. We believe our staff is amongst the most well-educated and experienced of any contact centre in Scotland. The fact that we haven’t lost an employee in three years, something no premises based contact centre can claim, and would suggest our employee satisfaction is pretty high.

Through offering flexible working we are able to give our employees a way of fitting their job around their other commitments. But it also works the other way.
In offering our staff flexibility we also get the same flexibility back, the team are readily able to jump into action in a matter of minutes if required. Unseen demands can pop up any time and with a flexible workforce you will usually find someone able to pitch in and manage any additional demand.

Our high employee retention rate also means we don’t have to repeatedly invest in repetitive induction training; instead we develop & build upon the skills and expertise of our existing workforce, adding more value to the Aquarius service.
Another big plus point of effective flexible working is no office politics! Employee mediation and bust-ups in the office simply don’t occur when your employees are working in the comfort of their own environment and are driven by their personal motivations and a desire to succeed within the company.
Finding the right employees for any job can be difficult; there are hundreds of willing and able workers who, for one reason or another, are unable to work to strict office hours. These people could be the missing link for your business and at Aquarius we have seen the light!
